Jackson Wang to curate Monet's 'Impression, Sunrise'

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

GOT7 member Jackson Wang might as well add “art curator” in his list of accomplishments this year after he announced that he's curating an art exhibition in Shanghai, China.

His first exhibition? “Impression, Sunrise” by French impressionist painter, Oscar Claude-Monet.

On September 16, Jackson posted a teaser video on his Instagram account announcing his new project under his company Team Wang.

He said, “I hope you like this piece I created. I am very honored to present this to you all.

“'New hope, limitless and infinite possibilities.' In a world with no boundaries. So far yet so close. No restrictions on our thoughts.

“I hope I can show you more sides of me. I always wanted to create something different. A different perspective and angle of viewing things and expressing them through different bodies of work. At the end of the day, it's art.

“Let's link and connect with what I create. I am showing more and more, the inner sides of me. Not only the commercial side on shows. I want to walk with you through what's the world like inside my brain.

“Again, I'm very blessed and honored to join the art exhibition of Impression Sunrise by Monet.”

The Team Wang x Monet collaboration presents Jackson's unique interpretation of the famous painting “Impression, Sunrise.”

The concept space will open starting today until November 17, 2020, at the Bund One Art Museum at 1 Zhongshan Road East One, Shanghai.
