BTS delivers 'IDOL' performance in Gyeongbokgung Palace

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

K-pop titan BTS has officially kicked off their special week by delivering two special performances on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The first video was a beatbox version of their Billboard Hot 100 hit “Dynamite” featuring the American talk show host and the Grammy Award-winning band The Roots.

Of course, Jimmy didn't let the moment pass as he danced along with the choreography.

Because this is #BTSonFallon week, the septet also sang “IDOL” and delivered a show-stopping act in front of the Gyeongbokgung Palace, the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty.

It can be recalled that BTS also performed the same song during their September 2018 guesting in the said late-night talk show.

Big Hit IPO
On Monday, September 28, it was reported that BTS members -- RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook -- will each make millions from the stock market listing that's due to take place next month.

Big Hit Entertainment is issuing its shares at $115 each, raising $822 million and valuing the company at $4.1 billion -- the largest stock offering since July 2017, according to data compiled by Dealogic.

The company's CEO, Bang Si-hyuk, owns 43% of Big Hit making the music producer a billionaire. Meanwhile, each of the members was given 68,385 shares last August. These shares are now worth $7.9 million each at the issue price.

In August, Big Hit reported nearly $42 million profit for the first half of 2020 through online concerts and merchandise sales despite the pandemic.

Big Hit also sells secondary content through artist-based characters, illustrated books, games, and licensing including the BTS editions of Samsung smartphones and Starbucks products that helped the company prosper through 2020.
