Keiko Necessario tells message of surrender in new album 'Ready, Let Go'

By Cherry Sun

Keiko Necessario revealed no hesitations about releasing her new music in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic because of her faith and purpose captured in her album 'Ready, Let Go.'

After spending eight years as an indie artist, Keiko was taken under the wings of English manager Graham Perkins and signed with Warner Music Philippines.

The singer-songwriter also collaborated with UK-based producers Rusti Russouw and Tristan Charmichael, collectively known as Chasing Fantasia, to explore and discover her sound as an artist.

These all make up a good opportunity, and despite the threats of the ongoing crisis that has severely affected the OPM scene, Keiko had no doubts about pursuing her plans to launch her newest musical feat.

In a virtual video conference she had with members of the press yesterday, September 30, Keiko emphasized that this message of surrendering is what her new music embodies.

She said, “I really just believe na parang alam mo 'yun, when you surrender, when you let go, it's more of letting go of your fears, of your worries, ganyan, so you can move forward.”

She also added, “Surrendering isn't just about losing. It's really not about losing. Kasi 'di ba pag sinabi mong surrender, it's like giving up. But no. When you surrender, there's more gaining than losing. Yeah, that's what's happening and that's what happened. Yeah, that's what this album and song “Ready, Let Go” is all about.”
