With 1.3 million followers, Pride of the Philippines Alyssa Valdez takes the second spot in the list of the top volleyball players with the most Instagram followers, beating Olympic champion Bruno Rezende.
Athlete-endorser Alyssa Valdez has been recognized as one of the top volleyball players in the world with the most Instagram followers.
According to the October 7 Facebook post of Volleyball World, a Facebook community page with over 2 million followers, the former Ateneo de Manila Lady Eagles ace spiker ranked No. 2 behind Iranian setter Saeid Marouf.
Marouf has over 1.8 million followers on Instagram, while Alyssa has more than 1.3 million accounts following her.
What's more surprising is that the Pinay pride has more followers than Brazilian Olympic gold medalist Bruno Rezende and Thai hitter Pleumjit Thinkaow, who is regarded as a "superstar" in her country.
In the Philippines, Alyssa Valdez is one of the top Filipino athletes with a solid following online.
Her Twitter account has 1.9 followers, while her official YouTube channel has more than 147,000 subscribers and has accumulated over 2.3 million views since November 2017.
