By Cara Emmeline Garcia

Months before his mandatory military service will end, EXO member Doh Kyung-soo, more popularly known as D.O., is going to star in an upcoming movie that will be released in 2021.

According to an Oct. 14 Naver's report, D.O. will star alongside K-drama actor Seol Kyung-gu in the new movie The Moon.

The upcoming film will be directed by Kim Yong-hwa, the same man who wrote and directed the epic Along With the Gods series.

The Moon will tell the story of a man left alone in space by accident and another man on Earth who tries to bring him back to the planet safely.

D.O. is reported to play the isolated character on the moon while Seol Kyung-gu will play a lonely man who works in an observatory on Earth.

This isn't the first time D.O. worked with director Kim Yong-hwa.

In 2017 and 2018, the K-pop idol played Private Won Dong-yeon in Along With the Gods Part 1 and 2.

D.O.'s label, SM Entertainment, has yet to confirm the news.

If the reports are true, The Moon will be his first project after being discharged from the military in January next year.

The Moon will begin filming in the first half of next year.
