The SIS Bombshell

SIS is famous for the bond that Janice, Gelli and Carmina exhibits on screen. But it seems we are missing one more sister in the picture – Tessbomb! The healthy and jolly lady who hosts some of SIS’ segments like ‘Joyride’ and ‘Kolek Ka Dyan!’ gives us some tidbits about the show, the hosts and the staff behind the cameras. Text by Loretta G. Aside from giving comic relief, she is also one of the creative talents that are behind the show’s unique and catchy segments. Experienced and has a proven track record on working behind the cameras, it did not take Tessbomb a long time to find her place in show business. Now, a part of our morning rituals, she shares her experience on working with the famous SISters. Tessbomb considers SIS as her family and has only good things to share about it. She has been in the show ever since it started. Whether working behind the camera or in front of it, Tessbomb can only think of good times and fond memories when asked to share about her experience in the show. She vividly recalls a dark moment in her life when her father died and her SISters were there for her. She did not expect the gesture but Janice, Gelli and Carmina proved that they are more than her co-workers but consider her as family too. Gelli De Belen “Yung time na yung papa ko nasa hospital, 2002 yun, andun yung suporta nila Gelli. Si Gelli number one yan, nagpadala yan ng pera sa akin sa ospital pa lang, inabot nya sa PUM ko. Sila direk binigyan din ako ng pera, binigyan nila ako para sa mga panggastos ko,” shares Tessbomb rather proudly. She fondly recalls how she felt so thankful that Gelli and the rest of the staff was there to support her. “Tapos nung nawala si papa ko, pumunta sila Gelli at si Ariel (Rivera) sa burol…Nung pagka-cremate tumawag pa sya sa kin, ‘Tessbomb ‘di na kita napuntahan dyan. Alam ko ‘yung cremation kaya lang kasi di na ko nakapunta. Asan ka ngayon? Asan ka?’ ganun sya sobrang concern. Sabi pa ni Gelli, ‘gusto mo pasundo kita dyan? Gusto mo dito ka muna sa San Juan tumira? May bahay dito si Ariel, gusto mo? Dito ka muna o gusto mo sa ‘kin ka muna?’ Sobra talaga, ang sarap sarap ng pakiramdam ko. Love ako ni Gelli, promise!,” adds Tessbomb. Janice De Belen Tessbomb reveals that the older de Belen has a different approach compared to the younger de Belen. “Si Janice katulad din yan ni Gelli, sya naman maasahan mo ‘yan sa mga kwento, ‘kaya mo yan, ako nga ganyan, ganyan…’ ganun si Janice, in fairness naman, luluwag yung kalooban mo. Basta mapapanatag ka, kakausapin ka, ganun sya,” recalls Tessbomb. Carmina Villaroel “Eto si Carmina bakla yan e, tinatanong nya ko, san ka na uuwi? Uy ingat ka ha, ganun sya, maalalahanin,” exclaims Tessbomb, when we asked her about her impressions on the actress. Tessbomb shares that the three SISters may have different ways of showing how they value each and every person in the show, but one thing is for sure, they all belong to one family and will no doubt be SISters for life. “Kung titingnan mo sa TV ang akala mo matataray sila, pero mali kayo, napakabait nila. Basta ang masasabi ko sa tatlong yan …Bakla! Ang sarap nilang kasama promise! Kaya kami ganito kasaya!” concludes Tessbomb with a laugh. Catch SIS Mondays thru Fridays at 11 a.m., only on GMA 7.
