Red Velvet's Irene apologizes after rumors spread about her alleged rude behavior

By Bianca Geli

K-pop girl group member Irene of Red Velvet has released an apology letter after rumors circulated that she is the female Korean singer in a blind item posted by a K-pop photoshoot editor.

In a post from the photo editor's private Instagram account, she mentioned an incident where a celebrity verbally attacked her.

Netizens started speculating the member is either Irene or fellow Red Velvet member Seulgi, due to the hashtags #psycho and #monster used in the said post. Irene and Seulgi released a mini album called Monster earlier this year.

However, rumors leaned more towards Irene after the photo editor liked a post about Irene having temper tantrums.

On the other hand, other Red Velvet staff members have spoken up in defense of Irene and complimented Irene's behavior.

Irene's apology letter has reached over a million likes in less than 24 hours.

"This is Irene.

"I sincerely apologize for hurting the stylist with my foolish attitude and careless words and actions.

"There was a lot of help from many people who worked hard together until I was here [sic], but I am regretting and reflecting on the fact that I hurt a lot with my immature behavior. Looking back through this time, I was ashamed of my lack of [sic] words and actions, and I felt the importance of the staff once again.

"We [sic] will think and act more carefully to prevent this from happening in the future.

"I sincerely apologize to all the fans who support me who are lacking [sic] and to all those who have caused [sic] concern over this incident.
