Rabiya Mateo is the new Miss Universe Philippines

The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 is Rabiya Mateo.

Rabiya Mateo, 24, from Iloilo, was crowned at Baguio Country Club in Baguio City, where the preliminaries and finals were held.

The new queen was crowned by Miss Universe Philippines 2019, Gazini Ganados.

Miss Paranaque Maria Ysabella Ysmael was crowned first runner-up, Miss Quezon City Michelle Theresa Gumabao as second runner-up, Miss Bohol Pauline Amelinckx as third runner-up, and Miss Cavite Kimberly "Billie" Hakenson as fourth runner-up.

The first Miss Universe Philippines pageant's judges included former beauty queens, Miss Universe 2012 1st Runner Up Janine Tugonon and Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner Up Ariella Arida.

They were joined by Jackie C. Aquino, Samuel Salonga Versoza, Jr., Representative Eric Yap, Raymond delos Santos, Venus Navalta, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Baguio First Lady Mrs. Arlene Magalong, Arthur Peña.

This year's pageant has faced a lot of setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After months of reorganizing, the Miss Universe Philippines revealed that the pageant will be held in October.

The first Miss Universe Philippines was aired on GMA Network.
