Janine's movie 'Babae at Baril' won multiple awards including Best Director for Rae Red
Kapuso actress Janine Gutierrez clinched the Best Actress award at the recently concluded 43rd Gawad Urian Awards.
Janine won the prestigious honor on the strength of her performance in the crime-thriller film, Babae at Baril directed by Rae Red.
In total, Babae at Baril garnered six awards including Best Picture, Best Cinematography, and Best Director.
Meanwhile, Elijah Canlas won the Best Actor award for his portrayal in Kalel, 15.
Yayo Aguila, on the other hand, took home the Best Supporting Actress for the movie, Metamorphosis. The Best Supporting Actor award went to Kristoffer King for the Verdict.
With her victory, Janine joins an elite group of actresses who won the same award in the past. Just some of these names are Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos, Maricel Soriano, Gina Alajar, and Lorna Tolentino.
