Kapuso celebrities use social media power to inform the public about Typhoon Ulysses

Still reeling from the destruction brought about by Super Typhoon Rolly (International name: Goni), the Philippines is currently at the mercy of Bagyong Ulysses which brought torrential rains and strong winds in many parts of Luzon.

With this strong typhoon ravaging the country, many celebrities took to social media to spread information and remind everyone to prepare and stay safe amid this weather disturbance.

Global endorser Gabbi Garcia tweeted this message last night, November 11.

“Ang lakas ng hangin grabe. Please please stay safe guys Folded hands.”

She also posted a series of tweets asking for help to rescue individuals who were trapped in their homes because of extreme flooding.

Kapuso stars Ruru Madrid and Barbie Forteza also took to Twitter to inform everyone to brace for the effects of Typhoon Ulysses.

“Keep safe everyone!!! #UlyssesPH”

“Wala na kaming kuryente. Grabe, ang lakas ng hangin. Magiingat po tayong lahat.”

Meanwhile, award-winning broadcast personality Atom Araullo cautioned everyone to stay alert because Ulysses is expected bring heavy downpour.

“Hindi biro ang lakas ng hangin ng bagyong #UlyssesPH, ngunit lalong paghandaan ang ulan na ibubuhos nito.

“Mas mabagal at mas maraming tubig na dala ang bagyo kumpara sa #RollyPH, at waterlogged na rin (puno ng tubig) ang mga lugar na nauna ng sinalanta ng ibang bagyo kamakailan.”

The hashtag #UlyssesPH is also the top trending topic on Twitter Philippines this Thursday morning.

According to the latest report from PAGASA released today, as of 7:00 AM, the center of the eye of Typhoon Ulysses was located in the vicinity of Cabangan, Zambales.

The typhoon has a maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 215 km/h.
