A more mature Maxene

Naging maganda ang pagtanggap ng mga manonood sa pilot episode ng My Lover, My Wife. Very intense ang mga naging eksena nito, at kitang-kita na kakaiba ito sa mga roles na ginampanan na before ng bidang si Maxene Magalona. “I assure the people na ang makikita nila ay ibang-iba from what I’ve done in the past,” says Maxene. ”Ako naman, ang gusto ko palagi is maganda yung atake ko sa bawat character na pine-play ko, pero at the same time, may iba pa rin.” Hindi naman ba nagkaproblema si Maxene when it comes to getting her mom’s approval para sa mas sexy at daring na role na ito? “Siyempre my mom has always been supportive, and she knows that I’m already of age, and she trusts me. And I talked to her din. She wouldn’t have asked me about the show, if I wanted to do it, if hindi siya naniniwala na maganda yung project, and if she does not trust GMA,” she shares. “And GMA always respected my career growth and development, yung path na gusto kong i-take.” Dagdag pa niya, “It’s always been a give and take situation between me and GMA kasi nga dati, medyo picky pa ako, nung bata pa ako.Pero now that I’m of age, and I’m getting older, okay na sa’kin na tumanggap ng mga daring and mature roles.” Very excited naman si Maxene hindi lamang sa role niya but with the show as well, dahil very unique ang storyline nito mula sa mga naunang drama para sa hapon ng GMA. “Sobrang intriguing, intense, lahat, and it’s very different kasi this is the first show na ginawa ko na may action, and may medicine,” paglalahad niya. ”There are times when ang mga storyline, nagkakapareho, pare-parehas ng plot, pero it’s such good timing nga na ang papalitan namin is Koreana and ang kasabay namin is Nita Negrita. Ibang-iba naman talaga ito, para hindi magsawa ang mga Pilipino habang nanonood sila. Hindi sila magsasawa, yung audience, matutuwa at mae-excite, and they’re always gonna look forward to something new every afternoon kapag nanonood sila.” Panoorin ang My Lover, My Wife tuwing hapon pagkatapos ng Nita Negrita sa GMA.
