Maine Mendoza sets the record straight on the Netflix debut of 'Isa Pa, With Feelings'

By Bong Godinez

First the confusion, then the confirmation.

Actress-host Maine Mendoza announced with certainty on social media that the film, Isa Pa, With Feelings, is slated to hit Netflix on Christmas Day, December 25.

The Eat Bulaga co-host posted the news on Instagram and Facebook while apologizing for the mix-up with regards to the date.

Maine initially posted on Facebook a poster of the film with the date November 19 for its premiere.

That turned out to be false and Maine was quick to take it back by posting on Instagram.

“DECEMBER 25!!! This is true!!!” she wrote on Facebook and at the same time sharing the post from the film's co-producer.

Isa Pa, With Feelings is a romantic-comedy pairing Maine with Carlo Aquino, and directed by Prime Cruz.

The film, a co-production of Black Sheep Productions and APT Entertainment, was released in cinemas on October 16, 2019.

It follows the story of Mara Navarro (Maine), a young architect, and her deaf neighbor and sign language teacher, Gali Pastrano (Carlo). Mara and Gali soon find themselves falling for each other. But can their relationship survive their communication barrier?

The movie gained mostly positive reviews and many referred to Maine's acting as a revelation.

Before the film, Maine was more known for her comedic chops and hosting.

Isa Pa, With Feelings proved that Maine is capable of doing drama and holding her own with established actors.
