Metro Manila Film Festival 2020 full line-up revealed

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has unveiled its full line-up of movies for its 2020 edition.

The big reveal happened today, November 24, during a virtual press conference hosted by the team behind the annual festival.

It's worth noting that some of the participating films were originally slated to join the canceled MMFF Summer edition.

There are 10 entries for this year, two films more compared to the traditional eight movies in the past years.

The slightly higher number is due to the fact that this year's festival will be online, giving the MMFF team more leeway and freedom from the usual limitations imposed by commercial cinema houses.

Here are the 10 film entries for this year's MMFF, running from December 25 to January 7, 2021:

Magikland

Genre: adventure-fantasy. Directed by Christian Acuña, starring Miggs Cuaderno, Elijah Aleto, Joshua Eugenio, Princess Aliyah Rabara, and an all-star supporting actors.

Coming Home

Genre: Drama. Directed by Adolfo Alix, Jr., starring Jinggoy Estrada, Sylvia Sanchez, Martin Del Rosario, Edgar Allan Guzman, and Vin Abrenica

The Missing

Genre: Horror. Directed by Easy Ferrer, starring Ritz Azul, Joseph Marco, and Miles Ocampo

Tagpuan

Genre: Romance-drama. Directed by Mac Alejandre, starring Alfred Vargas, Iza Calzado, and Shaina Magdayao

Isa Pang Bahaghari

Genre: Drama. Directed by Joel Lamangan, starring Superstar Nora Aunor, Phillip Salvador, Michael De Mesa, Zanjoe Marrudo, Joseph Marco, and Sanya Lopez.

Suarez, The Healing Priest

Genre: Biography, drama. Directed by Joven Tan, starring John Arcilla, with Alice Dixson, Rosanna Roces, and Rita Avila.

Mang Kepweng, Ang Lihim ng Bandanang Itim

Genre: Comedy adventure. Directed by Topel Lee, starring Vhong Navarro, with Benjie Paras, Ritz Azul, Ryan Bang, and Ion Perez.

Pak Boys

Genre: Comedy. Directed by Al Tantay, starring Andrew E, Janno Gibbs, Jerald Napoels, and Dennis Padilla.

The Boy Foretold by the Stars

Genre: Boys love, rom-com. Directed by Dolly Dulu, starring Adrian Lindayag and Keann Johnson.

Fan Girl

Genre: Coming of age. Directed by Antoinette Jadaone, starring Charlie Dizon and Paulo Avelino.

The yearly December film festival will be seen via the streaming platform Upstream.ph in partnership with Globe Telecom Inc's GMovies.

To watch the movies, viewers will need to purchase virtual tickets through the GMovies app where they will get a code to access the film.
