Alden Richards looks back at who he was 10 years ago

Alden Richards is headlining the first ever virtual reality concert in the country titled 'Alden's Reality' for his 10th showbiz anniversary. And while many are in eager anticipation of his special celebration, many are also curious about the reality of his life off cam.

Alden recently held a virtual media conference where he looked back at his life 10 years ago, at a time when he was just a newbie in the world of showbiz.

He recalled, “When I was starting, ang dami mong pangarap, ang dami mong dreams, ang dami mong gustong mangyari sa buhay mo noon. As I go along the 10 years that I've been here, slowly siya natutupad isa-isa because of the support, because of the good projects that you're doing, 'yung recognition din [mula] sa ibang tao.

“Ang sarap balikan noong nangangarap pa si Alden, and then now natupad na niya 'yung mga pangarap niya, most of it.”

Alden acknowledges that his life has truly made a different - and better - turn since day one of working in the industry. He refuses to lose sight of how he began.

The Kapuso star claimed, “I see to it that I don't let go of that reality na kung saan ako nanggaling kasi that's what keeps me sane. Sa bahay namin, they treat me as RJ, not Alden and I want it that way.

"Nakatulong sa akin nang malaki ang mga struggles, that's why I worked hard para marating ko kung ano man ang narating ko ngayon. That's what keeps my feet on the ground. Kasi if not for those hardships and struggles, I wouldn't work hard at hindi ko mararating kung ano 'yung narating ko ngayon. So I really owe it to those moments. I don't regret any of those moments that happened to me in the past.”

Moreover, while his showbiz journey led him to a different path, he also makes sure that he remains true and authentic.

Alden explained, “Actually kung ano naman po 'yung nakikita n'yo on TV and kung paano ako sa ibang tao is really how I am in real life. There's no difference. Walang Alden on-screen, off-screen. It's the same person.

“And of course in my 10 years, I've just been my same old self since I was starting. Siguro now with better people behind my back and of course, stronger and mas passionate about what I'm doing. But really, ako po talaga as myself, there's really no difference. There's no big difference between what you see on screen and off screen po. That's Alden's reality, that's the real me.”
