The 13-episode Kaibigan: The Series provides a different kind of storytelling in showing the ups and downs of life, including minor problems such as procrastinating, anxiety, and depression.
Each week, Kaibigan: The Series will tackle different problems that teenagers normally faced, especially in the time of a health crisis, and will teach lessons to the viewers.
Vlogger-turned-actress and TV host Janina Vela said Filipinos can easily relate to the stories on Kaibigan: The Series.
She said during the show's digital conference, "May usapang MU, gray area, may ano nga, e, somebody almost got COVID, or has to get tested and somebody's sick, best friend quarrels happened, or even just smaller problems about productivity and laziness and, for others, having to provide.
"These are stories that Filipinos already know and love because we live it. And so we just wanted to put that on the screen so that Filipinos can look and say, 'Hey, that's kind of like me.' You know? 'I see myself on that screen.'
"But, aside from that, add principles and values to it as well para you don't just see a mirror, but you see a mirror that kind of helps you and empowers you to overcome whatever you're seeing."
Kaibigan: The Series revolves around Jake Santos (Jesse Perkins), David Anderson (Christian Perkins), Kylie Kino (Janina Vela), and Anna Torres (Lianne Valentin) as they navigate the ups and downs of adulthood.
