“Should've Let Go” is Jackson's third single for the year following the success of his tracks “100 Ways” and “Pretty Please” back in March and September, respectively.
In an interview with Elle Singapore, Jackson said that every time he releases music, he gets to know himself more and more.
“I feel like with every release of my music that I put out, I feel that I'm forming myself more and more,” he said.
“I'm getting to know myself, every side of myself. What am I capable of? What am I not? What I have to work on harder, and what are my abilities?”
He also opened up about what it feels like working in his solo career and building his company, Team Wang, which has expanded this year from music to fashion.
He said, “Basically, working as a solo artist and, at the same time, managing the company is not as easy. It's really tough, and there are a lot of times that I felt mentally and physically tired. I went through that. I went through depression because everything is on my back. That's why communication is very important.
“I would say that the hardest thing about building a company or even building a team is a system. I believe it takes years to build that because not everyone in the company, including myself, is a robot. Everyone has different feelings, different standards, just different worlds, and you have to put that on one channel, so it's a difficult job.”
Finally, Jackson shared his ultimate goal when it comes to his music and career: making history.
He explained, “I really want to share the vision of what I believed as a child -- to know and make your own history.
“There are a lot of people who might not be as confident or even scared of the risk that they're going to take towards what they want. But I hope one day I can share my story to let more people know that if you really love something, you should go ahead and do it.”
