LOOK: Bittersweet reunion of Dina Bonnevie with Oyo and Danica just a few days before Christmas
With the COVID-19 pandemic still ravaging the country, the family of celebrity mom Danica Sotto-Pingris opted for a small Christmas celebration to stay safe.
In her Instagram post, Danica admitted that it was a bittersweet reunion with her mom Dina Bonnevie and brother Oyo Sotto.
She revealed that they weren't able to see their mother for months. Oyo and Danica are Dina's children with ex-partner Vic Sotto.
Dina, one of the stars of Anak ni Waray vs Anak ni Biday is now married to Ilocos Sur congressman Deogracias Victor Savellano.
Danica wrote on her post, “We didn't get to see our [mom] for months that's why we are so so happy we were able spend time before they leave for Ilocos.
“[Three] days na lang and Christmas na! No big celebrations for us this year but we can still be grateful for all the blessings.”
Despite a muted celebration this year, she reminded her more than 1M followers about the true meaning of Christmas.
She pointed out, “Minsan nga 'yung mas simple pa is 'yung mas memorable at meaningful di ba? Let's also not forget the real reason [why] we celebrate this special holiday.
“It's because of Jesus and the Lord's unconditional love for us all.”

Last March, Danica and her husband PBA cager Marc Pingris marked their 13th wedding anniversary.
The two started dating in 2005 and tied the knot on March 3, 2007. Now, they are proud parents to two chikitings: Anielle Micaela and Jean Michael.
Danica posted this sweet message on Instagram for her wonderful husband on their anniversary.
"Thank you because after all these years you're still the same guy who makes me laugh and makes me feel secure. You really have a golden heart. I appreciate how hard you work for our family pero sana lang bawasan ang pagiging too worried,”
Meanwhile, Daddy's Gurl star Oyo Sotto and wife Kristine Hermosa will soon be parents to five kids. Days before Christmas day, the showbiz couple announced that they are pregnant.
Before tying the knot in January 2011, Oyo and Kristine adopted their son Kristian Daniel and during the same year, Kristine gave birth to Ondrea Bliss.
Their third child Kaleb Hanns was born in 2014 and their fourth son, Marvin Valentin II was born in 2016.
Oyo considers their new baby as the “best Christmas gift.”
He posted, "Grabe ka Lord! Salamat Lord Jesus! Napaka faithful mo kahit kailan.
"God is truly amazing. Ibang klase ang mga sorpresa mo. Best Christmas gift ever."
