Tween idols shine in Yahoo Philippines! OMG! Awards

GMA Network's exceptional group of young stars popularly known as TWEENS continue their hot streak on the small screen after being recognized in the recently concluded First Yahoo Philippines! OMG! Awards held last June 21 at the Republiq Bar in Resorts World Manila, Pasay City. Leading the Kapuso awardees are fast-rising teen idol Alden Richards who was named as Amazing Male Newcomer and Tween Queen Barbie Forteza as the Most Animated Celebrity of the Night. Hosted by JM Rodriguez and Andi Manzano, this purple carpet event recognized the most searched local celebrities determined by online polling and search trends. Alden got his big break in the business after his stint in the afternoon series, Alakdana, alongside Tween star Louise delos Reyes. He not only cemented his star potential in the series but also displayed his serious acting chops that easily earned him high acclaim from his peers and critics alike. His matinee-idol good looks had girls swooning with his fan base projected to shoot up among teens all-over the country. Barbie, on the other hand, has been riding high on her immense popularity and has joined the ranks of the most sought-after young stars today. At the age of only 13, Barbie began a career that was remarkable in her rapid rise to fame with numerous top-rating shows including First Time, Pilyang Kerubin, Nita Negrita and at present, the Sunday youth-oriented series, Reel Love presents Tween Hearts.
