In his interview with Lhar Santiago in December 2019, the Kapuso hunk has mentioned that he has made some major investments in that year.

The actor-host, who won the Best Male Host award at the 33rd Aliw Awards, "Marami akong nabiling mga investment, 'yon 'yung pinaka-da best na ano...like major investments.”

One of those "investments" was the little renovation project that he did at his home in 2020.

In November 2020, after three months of renovation, Derrick finished transforming the spare space in his family home into his own modern industrial-themed gym, complete with a neon marquee sign.

In a Nov. 26 24 Oras report, Derrick shared that having a home gym had always been his dream.

“Matagal ko na po talaga dream magkaroon ng home gym ever since nag-start ako magbuhat. Very timely din kasi may pandemic ngayon para 'di na rin po ako lumabas-labas para safe sa family ko, sa mga taong makaka-work ko,” he said.

Derrick Monasterio has really come a long way when he started in the popular youth-oriented show Tween Hearts (2010-2012), the show that produced some of the most recognizable names in the Kapuso Network including Barbie Forteza, Bea Binene, Kristoffer Martin, Joyce Ching, and Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards.

He has appeared in a string of soaps in GMA-7, including The Half Sisters (2014-2016), Hanggang Makita Kang Muli (2016), and even headlining his own, Tsuperhero (2016-2017).

Derrick was also chosen by his home network to be part of such huge projects as the telefantasya series Mulawin VS. Ravena (2017) and the action-drama series Beautiful Justice (2019).

In 2019, he dipped his toe into the world of theater, portraying Tolits in the longest-running original Pinoy musical 'Rak of Aegis.'

This 2021, Derrick will be part of the very first Kapuso game-reality-talent show program Catch Me Out, which will be hosted by Dabarkad Jose Manalo. They will also be joined by Kakai Bautista.
