These boy groups are confirmed to join MNET reality show 'Kingdom.'

Six Korean boy groups are confirmed to join Korean music channel Mnet's reality show, Kingdom!

After the success of Queendom in 2019, Mnet announced that they would be launching a male version of the show titled Kingdom.

Kingdom kicked off with a preliminary season called Road to Kingdom where THE BOYZ emerged as the final winner of Road to Kingdom and earned the first spot in the Kingdom lineup.

Road To Kingdom, aired in April 2020 and continued till June 2020 where seven boy groups participated including Too, The Boyz, Pentagon, ONF, Golden Child, Verivery, and Oneus.

Kingdom will follow the format of its previous show Queendom, where K-pop groups will compete with each other in various rounds, produce songs, and release them to see which one does better in charts. Along with this, the group's latest comeback will also reportedly play a crucial part in it. For the 2021 edition of Kingdom, SM Entertainment's pop duo TVXQ Changmin and Yunho will be seen as the MCs of the event.

During the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards, it was revealed that Stray Kids and ATEEZ would be joining the idol competition show as well.

Along with the news that TVXQ would be hosting Kingdom, several groups were reported to be in talks for the show. On January 29, Mnet confirmed that BTOB, iKON, and SF9 would be joining the lineup of Kingdom.

BTOB will be joining as BTOB 4U, featuring their four-member subunit (Eunkwang, Changsub, Minhyuk, and Peniel), while the other members Hyunsik and Sungjae are currently serving in the military. It was initially reported that BTOB had initially turned down the offer but eventually agreed to join the show after further discussion with Mnet.

Kingdom is scheduled to premiere in early April 2021.
