Jackie Lou Blanco posts 80s throwback photo with Sharon Cuneta
Remember the 1982 hit romantic movie, My Only Love? Actress Jackie Lou Blanco certainly does.
The actress posted a photo of her together with the film's lead star, Sharon Cuneta, taken apparently on the set.
“Shooting for My Only Love. It was so memorable because it was my first movie and it made it more special kasi dito kami naging close ni Sharon,” Jackie Lou wrote on Instagram.
“I don't remember what we were talking about here. Just both being giddy and having fun. Friends may not see each other for long but the memories and love always remain in their hearts. Miss you, Mama,” she added.
Jackie Lou's post instantly brought back fond memories to her friends and followers who recalled seeing and falling in love with the movie back then.
“Dalaginding pa sila,” one said, while another wrote, “Super love the movie, panahon ko 'toh!!! You were teenagers then and i too, so magkkaedad talaga tyo..hehe. brings back so many memories! I remember i keep clippings of my fave stars during that time and it was titled "The young stars of the 80s" sayang hindi na na keep.”
Singer Martin Nievera, meanwhile, commented, “So cute.”
Aside from My Only Love, Jackie Lou and Sharon also appeared in the movies Friends In Love (1983) and Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin (1987).
My Only Love was one of the biggest Sharon-Gabby Concepcion movies made at the peak of their love team.
It followed the blockbuster success of their first two films, Dear Heart and P.S. I Love You.
Jackie Lou played the third party role in the movie. In one memorable scene, Jackie Lou's character named Trixie told Cindy (Sharon), “Same bracelet. Pareho rin ba ang nagbigay?”
The movie was adapted into a TV series by GMA in 2007. Louie Ignacio directed the series, which ran from November 12 until February 29, 2008.
Assuming the roles previously portrayed by Sharon and Gabby were Rhian Ramos and Mark Herras.
Taking on the role of Jackie Lou's character was Bianca King.
“With regards sa expectations ng tao because this was a Sharon Cuneta blockbuster romantic hit movie before, siyempre nakakakaba dahil nandun nga yung expectation kung kaya ko bang i-fill ang shoes ni Ms. Sharon,” Rhian said at the time.
“I mean, she's a big, big star and it's really an honor for me na sa akin mapunta ang role na ito. I just want Ms. Sharon to know what a big deal this project meant for me.”
