“SexyBack” singer Justin Timberlake issued a lengthy apology for two successful female musicians, Britney Spears and Janet Jackson, on Instagram yesterday, February 13.

According to a report by GMA News Online, the pop sensation issued an apology after widespread criticism on social media and mainstream media about an interview he gave some 20 years ago about his sex life with Spears.

This came after the release of the new controversial documentary, Framing Britney Spears.

Meanwhile, in the same article, it was also written that Justin Timberlake had been criticized for not taking full responsibility for the “infamous wardrobe malfunction” during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show.

In their performance, Justin accidentally exposed Janet Jackson's breast on stage.

The singer-songwriter and producer, who is married to actress Jessica Biel, posted this apology to Britney and Janet on Instagram.

He said, “I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed.

“I also feel compelled, in part, because everyone involved deserves better and most importantly, because this is a larger conversation that I wholeheartedly want to be part of and grown from.”

Justin reiterated in his apology that this is an important “first step” but it will not erase what he had done in the past.

“The industry is flawed. It sets men, especially white me, up for success. It's designed this way. As a man in a privileged position I have to be vocal about this. Because of my ignorance, I didn't recognize it for all that it was while it was happening in my own life but I do not want to ever benefit from others being pulled own again.”

“I have not been perfect in navigating all of this throughout my career. I know this apology is a first step and doesn't absolve the past.”

He ended his post by saying, “I care deeply about the wellbeing of the people I love and I have loved. I can do better and I will do better.”

Actress Jessica Biel also expressed her support to her husband.

The Hollywood couple confirmed in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that they have a new addition to their family.

Justin told Ellen, “He's name is Phineas. He's awesome and he's so cute. And nobody's sleeping.

“But we're thrilled, you know. We're thrilled and couldn't be happier, very grateful.”

Jessica gave birth to their first child named Silas Randall on April 8, 2015.
