Glaiza De Castro showcases the beauty of Donegal, Ireland in new music video

Glaiza De Castro is set to release the music video of her latest single "Bank Holiday" on Thursday, February 18.

The music video is something that she holds dear to her heart because of two beautiful reasons: it features her now-fiancé David Rainey as her leading man, and it showcases the wild landscape and beautiful sceneries of Donegal, a county of Ireland, where the latter proposed to the Kapuso actress.

Speaking to Donegal-based women's online magazine Donegal Daily/Donegal Woman, Glaiza said she thought of the idea to highlight Donegal in her music video for "Bank Holiday" as a way to share her holiday experience with her fans.

She said, "When I arrived in Donegal, he was still my boyfriend, on the third day he proposed to me, that's when the idea of making a music video came to mind.

“Doing vlogs during travels is a big thing in the Philippines, especially if you are a celebrity you are a little bit obliged to share a little bit of your travel and experiences. I'm not really good with vlogging, so I saw the song as a way to create content to tell people back in the Philippines how beautiful Donegal is.”

Glaiza sought the help of professional photographer Paul Doherty to materialize her vision of Donegal - majestic and magical.

While the shots are truly nothing short of dreamy for a pre-wedding pictorial, Glaiza clarified that they dressed up and posed for a music video.

“I wanted to make the audience feel that they are part of the experience,” she said.

“During this pandemic, everyone is in their houses and we are restricted from travelling, so I thought it would be nice, through this video, to make them feel like they can travel.”

The music video shows Glaiza exploring stunning locations in Donegal such as Horn Head, Falcarragh Beach, Portnablagh, and Ards Friary where David exactly popped the question.

Glaiza wrote "Bank Holiday" in 2019 when she was in London to take a music production course. The song was inspired by her observations of people sunbathing at parks during bank holidays that happen in the United Kingdom.

She said, “Filipinos aren't really familiar with Bank Holidays. I thought it's an interesting title to use. Back in 2019, I was studying music in London. I was a little stressed and it was also the first time I was away from home for a long time.

“I went to the park and observed that it was a Bank Holiday, and I was so inspired by the people outside. I was thinking I would like to be in that position, be on holiday and not think about deadlines, song structures, assignments, or projects.

“To me, that was the dream, being in Donegal.”

Released last February 12, "Bank Holiday" is Glaiza's debut offering under Chynna Ortaleza and Kean Cipriano's record label OC records.

The single is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and other leading digital platforms.

Meanwhile, Glaiza is set to star in the new GMA series titled Nagbabagang Luha, a TV adaptation of the '80s classic movie of the same title headlined by veteran actors Lorna Tolentino, Gabby Concepcion, Alice Dixson, and Richard Gomez.

Here, she is teamed up with Rayver Cruz and will play the role of Maita who was originally portrayed by Lorna.
