Rhian Ramos proved that she's a loyal Kapuso as she renewed her contract with GMA Network today, February 19.
Joining her at the contract signing are GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA Vice President for Drama Productions Redgie Acuña-Magno, GMA Assistant Vice President for Drama Productions Cheryl Ching-Sy, GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, and Program Manager Charles Koo.
Also present at the event are Rhian's talent managers Michael Uycoco, and road manager Rachel Ann Librado.
Rhian's contract renewal with her home network marks her 15th year as a Kapuso.
She made her TV debut when she got the lead female role in the 2006 action fantasy series Captain Barbell, opposite Richard Gutierrez.
Since then, the Filipino-British actress has consistently portrayed lead roles in such GMA series as Lupin, LaLola, Zorro, Stairway To Heaven, Ilumina, Genesis, Sinungaling Mong Puso, and The One That Got Away.
Rhian made waves when she was paired with Glaiza De Castro in the acclaimed series The Rich Man's Daughter where they played as lovers.
Right now, Rhian is evidently taking her acting skills to the next level as viewers rave about her character in GMA primetime series Love Of My Life where she portrays Kelly.
Kelly is a fashionable full-time raketera who deals with the self-righteous Gonzales matriarch, Isabella (Coney Reyes), who happens to be the grandmother of her love child with Stefano (Tom Rodriguez) who succumbed to cancer. The conflict between them arose when Kelly had to live with Isabella, together with the latter's son Nikolai (Mikael Daez) and daughter-in-law Adelle (Carla Abellana), Stefano's wife, in one mansion.
Rhian is beyond grateful as Love Of My Life continuously earns a positive reception from viewers because of its progressive and relatable story despite the challenges the production of the series experienced amid the COVID-19 quarantine.
Speaking to GMANetwork.com, she said, "We are really happy with the reception of everyone with the show kasi we've been working hard but I have to admit na may konting surprise din and a little bit of worry bago namin gawin o bago namin ituloy kasi dahil sa COVID-19, dahil sa quarantine.
"Ang daming mga challenges like hindi na namin mapapakita 'yung mga anak namin do'n sa show, never silang nakikita on cam.
"Tapos, siyempre, mga tao lang din kami may mga nagbabago sa itsura at sa katawan namin through time so iniisip ko makaka-bother ba sa viewers namin 'yung continuity pati hindi namin magagamit 'yung same location so nakahanap kami ng medyo kamukha ng original house na ginagamit namin."
She went on, "In fairness, it seemed to be ignorable na sa story lang sila nag-focus so we're very grateful."
Rhian is also grateful that Kelly is given enough attention in the story despite her character's temper tantrums and ill-disposition.
She added, "Aminin natin sa unang part na umere bago mag-quarantine, nakakainis talaga s'ya so pagdating dito ngayon and I'm seeing the audience's reaction, nakikita natin na binibigyan nila ng chance lahat.
"Every character makes mistakes pero nagawa ng audience na intindihin ang bawat isa sa kanila at kung ano 'yung pinanggagalingan nila."
Truly, Love Of My Life is just one testament to Rhian's loyalty to GMA. The network giving her projects that are worth-doing has helped her develop her career through the years.
