By Cherry Sun

Lovi Poe is recognized as a film ambassador by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) for her portrayal in the 2019 film titled Latay.

Latay is a movie about a battered husband depicted by Allen Dizon. This critically-acclaimed film written and directed by Ralston Jover won Lovi and Allan the best actress and best actor awards, respectively at the 10th International Film Festival Manhattan in 2020. It also received the Gold Award for Feature Film at the second Wallachia International Film Festival (WIFF) in Romania in September last year.

Because of these global achievements, the Owe My Love actress was named as film ambassador by the FDCP.

Lovi recently received a trophy and wrote, “Thank you for this recognition, FDCP.

“Doing our part on shedding some light to issues that aren't discussed as much...with characters that are rarely seen on screen. LATAY hopes to raise awareness on domestic violence, particularly towards men and battered husbands.”

Lovi also received warm greetings from her boyfriend Monty Blencowe, her nephew Brian Poe, and from her showbiz colleagues and friends.

Congratulations, Kapuso!

Lovi currently stars in Owe My Love alongside Benjamin Alves.
