SCHEDULE: GMA-7's Maundy Thursday Programming (April 1, 2021)
As the Catholic Church and the Philippines observe Lent, GMA-7 has prepared an inspiring and heart-warming program line-up this coming Maundy Thursday (April 1), Good Friday (April 2), and Black Saturday (April 3).
Here is a list of inspiring programs you can tune in to on GMA-7 on Maundy Thursday.
Maundy Thursday opens with Jesus: His Life, a docu-drama series about the life of Jesus through the eyes of people closest to him at 6:00 am.
Next is Detective Conan, a Japanese animated series about young detective Shinichi Kudo who was shrunk due to an experimental drug and must now live as a child named Conan Edogawa at 7:30 am.
Coming back-to-back with that is The Croods, an animated film about a family of cavemen who go on an adventure after a massive earthquake destroys the cave they live in at 8:30 am.
One's faith in God will surely be strengthened by the inspiring stories of CBN Asia's Holy Week Specials at 10:00 am.
Heartstrings will surely be tugged in The Stray, a film about a stray dog named Pluto who changes the lives of a struggling family, 11:00 am.
Magical children's story anthology Daig Kayo ng Lola ko brings back-to-back episodes at 12:00 pm. First up is "Ang Kuwento ni Bogs Bunny" which stars Carla Abellana as a mischievous Easter bunny. This will be followed by "The Runaway Princess Bride" starring Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera who plays a young woman who escapes to the mortal world to avoid an arranged marriage.
Of course, Holy Week is never complete without The Ten Commandments, an iconic film from Cecil B. DeMille starring Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner and Anne Baxter, 01:30 pm.
Get to know the stories of real people with host Pia Arcangel in Tunay Na Buhay, 05:00 pm.
Don't miss eye-opening and award-winning documentaries with i-Witness, 05:30 pm.
GMA Network continues to bring "serbisyong totoo" with flagship news program 24 Oras, 06:30 pm.
Revisit "Love on the Balcony," the maiden offering of the first season of mini-series anthology I Can See You, 7:15 pm. Starring Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards and Jasmine Curtis Smith, it features a timely romance between a frontliner nurse and an out-of-work wedding videographer.
The day ends with an episode of real life drama anthology #MPK at 10:30 pm. Kapuso Primetime King Dindong Dantes stars as Boy Bonus who lives a life of crime until a miracle restores his faith in God in "Ang Kriminal Na Binuhay Ng Diyos."
