WINNER's Kang Seung-yoon released the music video for his new song "Iyah" yesterday, March 29.
Through the song and the music video, Yoon took a look back at his journey towards becoming a singer.
"Of course with time, the emotions I felt at the time and the emotions I feel now have changed a lot. I think I've become a much more mature person and someone that can tell many different stories," Yoon explains in a featurette about the filming of the music video released through WINNER's official YouTube channel.
He also revealed the kind of message that he hopes to impart through the song.
"'Iyah' talks about the responsibilities and weight people have to hold as an adult. But aren't we all still children under the love of mothers? We're all at the end of the day, still someone's child," Yoon says.
"It delivers a message, 'It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to not feel so much pressure,'" he adds.
"Iyah" is the title track of his first full album, Page.
Yoon participated in writing the lyrics for all tracks and was also involved in the composition and arrangement of a majority of them.
"I made this album because I wanted to be comforted by these songs, too. So I think this album will help you guys too in some way. Please look forward to it a lot. Don't feel too pressured and let's have a happy, healthy 2021. Fighting! I love you," he says.
His fellow WINNER member Mino has also made an appearance in the music video. While filming, he took the time to give a short message to Yoon.
"Seung-yoon, you're finally releasing your solo. I've seen you work so hard on it right beside you and that's why I want to support you even more. I really hope many people listen to it. Good luck on your activities. Fighting!" he says.
