Now that's what you call an announcement!

Ardent fans of K-pop boy group GOT7 are celebrating the news that leader JAY B has signed a record contract with Jay Park's H1GHR MUSIC.

The announcement happened via an edgy and special effects-heavy video uploaded on Tuesday, May 11 on the official YouTube channel of H1GHR MUSIC.

In an article posted on Teen Vogue, JAY B shared his excitement about this new milestone in his career. He is set to release his first single with the record label on May 14.

JAY B explained, “As I'm starting as a solo artist, I wanted to be free in the musical spectrum. So I had to spend a lot of time thinking of what kind of music I should pursue and other factors outside of the music.

"I appreciate that Jay Park first contacted me and trusted me throughout. I finally decided to join H1GHR MUSIC with the faith that I could accomplish my goals here, becoming an artist who puts out various outcomes based on my previous music career. I'm really excited to start as a solo artist here at H1GHR MUSIC.”

JAY B and the rest of GOT7 left JYP Entertainment early this year after deciding not to renew their contracts with the label.

Yugyeom is now officially with hip-hop and RnB label AOMG, while Mark Tuan signed a contract with American talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

Other GOT7 members Jackson Wang and Youngjae are now part of the Sublime Agency family, while Jinyoung is now a talent of BH Entertainment. Meanwhile, Thai rapper Bambam is currently being managed by Abyss Company.
