By Bianca Geli

Despite not winning the Top Social Artist award at the recent 2021 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), SB19 said being nominated in the prestigious awards show is already a remarkable achievement for them.

Global iconic boy group BTS won against SB19, BLACKPINK, Ariana Grande, and SEVENTEEN.

In a report on 24 Oras on Tuesday, May 25, SB19 expressed their gratitude for the achievement.

"Sobra-sobra na po 'yung karangalan na masama po kami 'ron sa Top Social Artist finalists. Talaga pong masaya na kami," Josh said.

He added, "Maraming opportunities po ang nagbukas para sa amin at hindi lang po para sa amin pero para po sa buong music industry ng buong Pilipinas."

SB19 is the first Filipino act to be nominated at the BBMAs.

They made history in 2020 when they debuted at number six on the Billboard Year-End Social 50 chart, making them the first Southeast Asian act to reach the chart's top ten.
