Michael V.'s 'Family History' to air on Father's Day on GMA Blockbusters

In July 2019, the whole world witnessed the directorial debut of multi-awarded comedian and creative director Michael V. by bringing into life the world of Alex and May in the family drama movie Family History.

Two years later, GMA Network, together with Direk Bitoy, will offer a one-of-a-kind Father's Day gift on Sunday, June 20 with the grand Philippine TV premiere of Family History--a joint production of Mic Test Entertainment, the company founded by Michael V. and his wife Ms. Carol Bunagan, and GMA Pictures.

Family History tells the story of a simple family man named Alex Dela Cruz (Michael V.), whose perfect life's turned upside-down after he learns that his wife May (Dawn Zulueta) has cancer.

The movie is a testament to Michael V.'s amazing skill as a storyteller, which was recognized back in February 2020 during the 4th Guild of Educators, Mentors, and Students (GEMS) Awards after it bagged the “Natatanging Pelikulang Pampamilya” special award.

Graded "B" in the Cinema Evaluation Board, Family History has an all-star cast led by Michael V. and highly-accomplished TV and movie star Dawn Zulueta.

Dawn, a true showbiz gem, won Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively, in the 1992 FAMAS Awards for her impressive acting in 'Hihintayin Kita sa Langit' and 'Una Kang Naging Akin.'

Also part of the impressive cast of the movie were onscreen partners Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix, and versatile talents Paolo Contis, John Estrada, Nonie Buencamino, Ina Feleo, and Kakai Bautista.

Joining them were Nikki Co, Mikoy Morales, Vince Gamad, and former child star Jemwell Ventinilla.
