Korean supergroup BTS remains unstoppable as "Butter" continues to lead the Billboard Hot 100 for its 6th consecutive week.
Hot 100 is Billboard magazine's weekly ranking of most popular songs in the United States. According to their report, 'Butter' drew 11 million US streams (down 11%), and 153, 600 sales (downloads, cassette and vinyl) in the week ending July 1. The upbeat summer song also attracted 28.3 million radio airplay audience impressions, up 2%, in the week ending July 4.
With this feat, BTS has broken their own record of being the longest-running no. 1 hit by any Asian act in history.
The seven-piece boy group had previously graced the top spot of the prestigious music chart with "Dynamite" for 3 weeks, and "Life Goes On" and "Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)" with one week each.
Meanwhile, BIGHIT MUSIC, the entertainment company of BTS, thanked ARMYs on Twitter over the joyous news:
Congratulations, @bts_bighit @bts_twt !

It is reported by the K-entertainment site Soompi that the only one song by a group that has ever topped the Hot 100 for more weeks starting with its debut was Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's 1996 hit "One Sweet Day." The said classic led the charts for 16 weeks.
Now, with the new single "Permission to Dance" coming up, ARMYs are already gearing up for their 7th week win!

With the plans of passing the baton plotted, user @IOt7army wonders how iconic it would be to have BTS replacing BTS at no. 1 spot!
So we could have Butter at #1 for a 7th (7!!!!!) week and then BTS replacing BTS with #PermissiontoDance at #1 ? JUST HOW ICONIC WOULD IT BE#Butter6thNo1OnHot100@BTS_twt pic.twitter.com/TrTTtMgoOm
