'Running Man' cast to hold virtual fan meeting via TikTok in September
South Korea's longest-running variety show, Running Man, is set to hold a virtual fan meeting on TikTok on September 5.
On July 8, Running Man announced its 2021 online fan meeting via their social media account.
The event poster and invitation video only features cast members Jee Seok-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Song Ji-hyo, Haha, Jeon So-min, and Yang Se-chan.
Yoo Jae-suk is not featured on the poster, leading to speculation that he might not be able to attend the fan meeting due to conflicting schedules.
"Today, we are going to announce something special. We always wanted to go where you are and meet everyone. But it has been a long time for us to wait. So we think everyone is missing each other more and more," Jee Seok-jin said.
Ji-hyo added, "So we decided to do our first online fan meeting to see everyone and cheer up even though we are in hard times."
"Our first 'Running Man Online Fanmeeting' will be on September 5, 2021, Sunday night 7 PM Korean Standard Time (6 PM in the Philippines). We will meet you [on] TikTok," Jong-kook announced.
"I wish you have fun with us, sing together, and make a lot of good memories at least through online," Haha said.
The fan meeting will broadcast live on TikTok and will be available in six different languages: Korean, English, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian.
Filipino fans can purchase their tickets via the SM website from July 16 to September 3, for P950.
In February 2020, Running Man cast members were supposed to have a fan meet in the Philippines to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary but the event was postponed due to the pandemic.
Running Man is a South Korean variety show that started airing in 2010 and features cast members competing in games and challenges, and receiving punishments.
On July 18, Running Man officially broke the record for the longest-running South Korean variety program with 564 episodes.
