Erik Matti's latest movie 'On The Job: The Missing 8' makes it to the Venice International Film Festival
Filipino movie director Erik Matti has gained another milestone in his career in the film industry as his latest masterpiece titled On The Job: The Missing 8 became the Philippines' entry for the 78th Venice International Film Festival 2021.
The veteran director and writer shared the terrific news on Instagram and uploaded the poster of his new film showing its nomination, which will compete against 20 other films from around the world.
Kapuso actress Ina Feleo expressed her admiration and support to the renowned filmmaker through a congratulatory message.
The former The Better Woman actress wrote, “Waaahhh! Congratulations direk!! Nasa Venice pa naman ako sa September! (Kala mo naman mahaba screentime).”
Erik replied, “@ina_feleo wahahaha! Paiwan ka na for the fest!!! Taraaa!!!”
Legal Wives actor Dennis Trillo also congratulated the Pinoy filmmaker's success.
The Kapuso Drama King wrote, “Congrats Direeeeek! @erikmatti” to which Erik replied, “@dennistrillo tara na! Tama na muna teleserye! Ang galing mo sa movie!!!”
Miss Universe 2012 1st runner-up Janine Tugonon also reacted to the known director's achievement and replied, “Woooowww” with four clapping emojis.
Other local celebrities and personalities who showed their support for Erik's new milestone include Iza Calzado and Janno Gibbs.
In the comments section, fans of the famous Pinoy director also showered him with their kind and supportive messages and left clapping

On The Job: The Missing 8 is the sole Filipino production that has been included in the list of nominees in this year's Venice International Film Festival.
Other countries that will be competing in the prestigious competition include the United States, France, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Germany, among others.
Erik Matti's latest masterpiece is a sequel to his internationally-acclaimed film On The Job which starred Gerald Anderson, Joel Torre, and Piolo Pascual.
On the other hand, On The Job: The Missing 8 features a star-studded cast, namely, John Arcilla, Dennis Trillo, Lotlot de Leon, Dante Rivero, Vandolph Quizon, and Ricky Davao.
The upcoming 78th Venice International Film Festival is set to commence from September 1 to 11.
