After Hidilyn Diaz etched her name in Philippine history as the first Filipino to every win a gold medal in the Olympics, Pinay boxer Nesthy Petecio is carving her own path by winning in the quarterfinal round of the featherweight division, beating Yeni Marcela Arias Castaneda of Colombia.

Following Nesthy's win, her name quickly topped the trending topics list on Twitter Philippines and many congratulated her for this amazing feat.
