Award-winning comedian Michael V. shares plan for possible sequel of 'Family History'
Three-time Asian TV awards Best Comedy Actor Michael V. confirmed in his interview with 24 Oras that there is a possibility to push through with the sequel of his movie Family History.
Shown in cinemas in 2019, Family History is a joint production between GMA Pictures and his company Mic Test Entertainment.
Michael told Nelson Canlas in Chika Minute yesterday (August 4), “Funny you ask that kasi [laughs]. Noong una wala, e, sabi ko Family History is Family History.
“Tapos na yung kuwento, pero nag-uusap kami recently ni misis ni Ayoi [Miss Carol Bunagan], kasi kasama siya sa nag-produce. She came up with an idea na I'd love to share with you guys. So yes, I will do it.”
The story between the couple Alex (played by Direk Bitoy) and May (portrayed by highly-respected TV-movie star Dawn Zulueta) touched the hearts of so many, especially for individuals who lost a loved one amid this COVID-19 pandemic.
The multi-awarded comedian shared, “Especially nung nangyari 'yung pandemic. A lot of people probably didn't think na it will hit them close to home, pero after nung mga nangyari may mga kaibigan tayo, may mga kamag-anak tayo na nawala and then you realized the value, the lesson nung movie.
“Yun 'yung gusto ko talaga iparating.”
Now that the family drama movie is available on Netflix Philippines, Michael is glad to hear the opinions of those who watched his film to learn from their critics: whether good or bad.
Bitoy explained his mindset saying, “`Yung engagement ang hinahanap ko, kasi hanggang ngayon estudyante pa rin ako, gusto ko pa rin matuto and 'yung engagement na `yun, dito ko gusto ko malaman kung ano `yung nagustuhan nila sa pelikula, kung ano hindi nila nagustuhan para supposedly sa susunod na project doon ko mai-apply 'yung mga matutunan.”
Michael V. is currently busy with his two shows, Bubble Gang and Pepito Manaloto: Ang Unang Kuwento. He doesn't just act in front of the camera but he also serves as the creative director of the programs, too.
