Five reasons to watch Julie Anne San Jose's 'Limitless, A Musical Trilogy'

By Bong Godinez

On September 17, viewers worldwide will get to watch “Breathe,” part one of Julie Anne San Jose's Limitless, A Musical Trilogy.

The three-part act will put the spotlight on Julie Anne's many talents as an artist while taking viewers on an extraordinary journey across the country.

For “Breathe,” Julie Anne travels to Mindanao to explore the culture there. The Kapuso star, also dubbed as "Asia's Limitless Star," mingles with locals to get to know them up close.

It is truly a unique musical experience, showing a more natural and vulnerable Julie Anne as she opens up about life, her aspirations, and frustrations.

With that said, here are some of the reasons why you shouldn't miss “Breathe” and the musical trilogy as a whole.

Music

Julie Anne San Jose is first and foremost a singer.

Limitless, A Musical Trilogy will feature several songs that mean a lot to Julie Anne.

These include songs that she popularized, songs that she has written, and songs that she wants to share with everyone.

Limitless as a whole, though, will take viewers to a sensory journey that also highlights the innate sounds of the locations that Julie Anne will visit.

Versatility

A singer, songwriter, dancer, multi-instrumentalist, and actress, we all know Julie Anne is all these and more.

In Limitless, viewers will get a full view of Julie Anne's versatility and many talents not on stage but on the ground across places in the Philippines.

Raw emotions

Julie Anne has gone through a gamut of emotions before and more so during the pandemic brought by the surrounding uncertainty.

Doing Limitless was emotionally liberating for Julie Anne where she gets to confront her doubts, questions, and fears by going on a journey to unfamiliar territories.

“I also want to share with everyone not only my music, my adventures, and discoveries, 'yong mga hidden gems dito sa Pilipinas and kung gaano ito kaganda,” said Julie Anne.

“Not only that but also a piece of my heart with you kasi I don't think I've ever been this open and vulnerable sa mga tao.”

She continued, “A lot of people see me as performer, singer, laging nakikita sa mga shows pero parang for the first time makikita n'yo ako as me, kung ano talaga ako.”

Limitless, said Julie Anne, is more than just another online show.

“It's actually beyond that and it's very special to me and everyone behind and who are present in this project,” smiled Julie Anne.

“Parang it has given us more reasons to live our lives and mga realizations din that there is more to this life, that there is so much more to see out there.”

Sceneries

Complementing the music and Julie Anne's musings are the various locations in Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon.

These places with their picturesque landscapes will showcase the country's natural beauty.

More than that, Julie Anne, by being there, gets to share the culture and tradition of these places.

Star-studded team

Behind Limitless is a solid team led by creative director Paolo Valenciano and Myke Solomon, the musical director behind the hit musicals Huling El Bimbo and Rak of Aegis.

JC Gellidon is the director of photography.

Julie Anne will also be joined Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista and The Clash alumnus Jong Madaliday, who is actually from Mindanao himself.

Producing the musical trilogy is GMA Synergy, the team is behind the Philippines' first-ever virtual reality concert-Alden's Reality: The Virtual Reality Concert-which was held last December.

The concert's TV airing, Alden's Reality: The Virtual Reality Concert TV Special, is a finalist at the New York Festivals Awards.
