BTS member Jungkook celebrates birthday writing songs for ARMY

By Bianca Geli

Jungkook of BTS spent the moments leading up to his birthday on September 1 on a livestream for their group's fans collectively known as ARMY.

Prior to his big day, Jungkook asked fans on Weverse to share selfies and send birthday notes. He later on went on a livestream through Vlive and attempted to write songs out of the birthday messages sent to him.

The youngest BTS member mixed instrumental and melodies in real time.

“For every day, I miss you/For every hour, I need you/For every minute, I feel you/For every second, I want you,” he sang, turning a fan's letter into a chorus and then layering harmonies on top of it, before building out verses. And more songwriting was to come.

Not only that, the Virgo birthday boy gave fans a mini-concert, singing BTS songs such as “Dimple,” “Pied Piper,” “2!3!,” “ Mic Drop,” “Spring Day,” “Sea,” “Home,” “Love Maze,” "Paradise," and more.

His fellow BTS members made sure to make his birthday memorable and surprised him. Jungkook received not just one, but two birthday cakes, brought to him by J-Hope.

The group recently made waves on the internet after their "Butter" remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion trended worldwide.
