GMA airs Dolphy Alay-Tawa musical concert on SNBO

Kapuso fans will again be united as GMA Network airs the star-studded charity concert for the King of Comedy dubbed as “Dolphy Alay-Tawa: A Musical Tribute to the King of Comedy” this Sunday (September 30) on SNBO.

The brightest and biggest Kapuso stars paid homage to the King of Comedy last September 19 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena together with artists from different networks. The event was led by the Quizon children Dolphy Jr., Edgar, Eric, Jeffrey, Rolly, Ronnie, Sally, Vandolph, Zia, and with Dolphy’s life partner Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla.

Reminisce the past as the musical concert looks back at the colorful periods in Dolphy’s showbiz career that highlighted his talents in acting, dancing, and comedy repartee.

Viewers will witness various thrilling and show-stopping production numbers from different artists including performances from GMA stars like Michael V, Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, Marian Rivera, Dennis Trillo, Lovi Poe, Aljur Abrenica, Rocco Nacino, Enzo Pineda, and a much-admired mambo dance number ala-Dolphy by Mark Herras.

Viewers should also watch out for the video clips of some Kapuso stars including the clip by Vic Sotto, the Prince of Comedy, as he sadly sings “Send in the Clowns.”

This once-in-a-lifetime event was directed by Al Quinn and written by Bibeth Orteza plus major contributions from GMA contract creative consultants Jake Tordesillas, Agnes Caballa, Caesar Cosme, and Senedy Que.

It was such a night filled with love as Sally and Eric Quizon, representatives of the Dolphy Aid Para sa Pinoy Foundation, announced that the profit of the event will be given to the Eye Bank Foundation of the Philippines, Friends of Hope, and Philippine Red Cross.

Dolphy Alay Tawa airs this Sunday, September 30 at 10:30pm on GMA7.
