Julie Anne San Jose fondly looks back on Netflix-bound 'Heartful Café'
Excited na si Julie Anne San Jose na mapanood sa Netflix ang romantic-comedy series na Heartful Café na pinagbidahin niya at Kapuso heartthrob na si David Licauco.
Simula kasi sa October 14 ay available na for streaming ang Heartful Café sa Netflix Philippines.
“'Yong Heartful Café sobrang napamahal siya talaga sa akin and every single thing about Heartful Café talagang sobrang memorable for me. I will forever treasure it because it's something that I haven't done before,” sambit ni Julie Anne nang makausap recently ng GMANetwork.com.
Ipinalabas ang Heartful Café noong Abril hanggang Hunyo ng taong ito sa GMA-7 sa ilalim ng direksyon ni Mark Sicat dela Cruz.
Ginampanan ni Julie Anne sa serye ang karakter ni Heart Fulgencio, isang online romance novelist at coffee enthusiast na owner din ng Heartful Café coffee shop.
“First time ko rin na magkaroon ng ganung klaseng role kasi usually 'yong mga roles na napupunta sa akin mga drama, palagi akong kumakanta,” paliwanag ni Julie Anne.
“It's also something na makaka-relate din 'yong mga tao because it's not just a regular rom-com, may mga stories din siya about life, about love, about coffee, about everything else tapos parang roller-coaster ride talaga siya and I bet that it's something that everyone would enjoy watching.”
May K-drama feels ang Heartful Café at gumamit din ito ng narrative technique na kung tawagin ay “breaking the fourth wall.”
Ang nasabing storytelling technique ay nagpapakita ng malalim na iniisip ng karakter sa pamamagitan ng direktang pakikipag-usap nito sa manunood.
Sa pamamagitan nito ay nararamdaman ng audience na kasama rin sila sa kuwento.
“I'm not sure kung nagagawa 'yon madalas sa Philippines but 'yong technique na 'yon, it's what they usually do sa mga Hollywood films, mga series, na rarely din na ginagawa sa isang concept,” paliwanag ni Julie Anne.
“So I got so excited when I found out na magiging ganito 'yong concept nung show, and not only that, kasi marami ring guests na nag-appear dun sa Heartful Café and it's really amazing to be working with such a great team.
“I never had a hard time working with these people because they're so kind and accommodating. Pure talent talaga and parang hindi namin naramdaman na nagta-trabaho din kami.”
Dagdag pa ni Julie Anne, “We really were aiming for high-quality content and sobrang thankful ako of course sa GMA because they gave us and me an opportunity and finally mapapanood na ng ibang tao sa ibang klaseng platform naman.
“Nasa digital age na kasi tayo and everything is accessible online, sa internet, and everyone is basically watching series and movies online.
“I'm happy na meron kaming ganitong klaseng exposure so sobrang excited ako, sobrang thankful.”
