Cristine Reyes details abuse suffered from biological mom

By Ron Lim

Cristine Reyes had some surprising revelations in a YouTube interview conducted by the Eight Billion Project. In it, she detailed the ways that she had been abused by her biological mother.

After being taken from her “loving” adopted family at the age of six, Cristine said that she was taken to her biological mother's “big house” but was made to feel unwelcome, unwanted, and unloved.

“Ever since I moved to my biological mom, I felt that I didn't have a voice. So as much as possible, I don't really talk,” Cristine shared.

According to Cristine, her mother also had no qualms in telling her that she should not have been born in the first place.

“I remember whenever there's a problem, I would constantly hear words, 'You know, you should have died. You never should have been born, I tried so many times to abort you,'” Cristine said.

Of course, growing up in such a hostile environment had an effect on Cristine's mental health. She shared that she would resent her classmates for having loving moms.

The actress even shared that she carried this negativity into her showbiz career. Because of the environment she grew up in, she thought that it was normal to say “bad things to other people.”

Cristine did end her interview on a hopeful note, stating that as a single mother, she now wants to “cut the curse” of “spreading bitterness, darkness, hatefulness in the world.”

“It's gonna be hard because I'm already old. They say you can't teach old dogs new tricks. But I think if there's a will, there's a way,” she said.
