There have been reports of e-mail scams from individuals pretending to be GMA executives and soliciting money from artista hopefuls.
GMA Artist Center has issued a statement after it got wind of reports of email scams that use the names of certain GMA executives to ask money or payments for "acting workshops" or "audition fees" from artista hopefuls.
The statement reads:
"There have been reports of people claiming to be personnel from GMA Artist Center and asking for money through e-mail, for people to audition. We advise the public to be careful about this, as that those are not official, and those people are not connected with GMA. There is also no cost to audition for GMA Artist Center.
"For those who are interested in auditioning for GMA Artist Center, we would highly advise you to go to our official website and submit your audition video there (https://www.gmanetwork.com/artistcenter/auditions)."
GMA Artist Center strongly advises the public to practice caution and discernment and to refrain from engaging with suspicious individuals via email or social media.
