Kapuso Power Couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are ready to grace the TV screens again as they are set to headline this year's GMA News and Public Affairs year-end special titled Year of the Superhero.

The Primetime King and Queen will honor our modern-day heroes who saved our days by lifting our spirits with acts of courage and kindness, making 2021 a year of the superhero.

Airing on New Year's Day 2022, the one-hour special will take us back to the most heroic moments of 2021 in the midst of adversities to inspire hope for better days ahead.

Year of the Superhero remembers the Filipinos who continue to fight on the frontlines of the pandemic like the nurses who saved 35 infants from a burning hospital, and the youth behind the community pantry initiative that fostered the Bayanihan spirit amongst the Filipinos.

It also tells the inspiring stories of extending unconditional help to others through the people who rescued the survivors of the C-130 Hercules plane crash in Sulu, a police officer who assisted a woman giving birth in the street in Capiz, and a dog owner who rescued her pet from being hit by a train.

Year of the Superhero continues the celebration of 2021's triumphs by featuring the real-life superheroes in sports, particularly the Olympians who raised our flag in Tokyo, Japan.

Year of the Superhero airs on January 1, 2022, 7:15 p.m., on GMA.
