Jak Roberto stars with Albie Casiño, Rita Daniela in new movie

Kapuso leading man Jak Roberto is all set for his new movie project with Albie Casino and Rita Daniela for the film Madawag Ang Landas Patungong Pag-Asa.

In a series of Instagram posts, writer and film director Rosswil Hilario uploaded snaps of scenes from the movie set.

In one photo, he posed with Jak who was seen dressed in army fatigue.

In another photo, film director Joel Lamangan was seen going through the script with Jak as well as Rita and Albie.

Unlike Lamangan's previous movies which were heavily skewed on the sexy adult film genre (Lockdown, Anak ng Macho Dancer, Silab, Moonlight Butterfly, and Walker), Madawag Ang Landas Patungong Pag-Asa on the contrary is purely wholesome and centered on education.

The story revolves around a teacher played by Rita who finds herself in a remote barrio where kids have stopped schooling for over three years. Due to an encounter between government troops and rebel forces, children, instead of studying, worked in online gaming.

Originally titled The Teacher, the acclaimed filmmaker thought it sounded just like “one of those” movies in the past, hence, he thought of giving it a more fitting working title.

Among the offerings of the movie is the fresh love triangle among Rita, Albie, and Jak.

Aside from the main characters, also in the film are Paulo Angeles, Jim Pebanco, Sue Prado, Lou Veloso, Tabs Sumulong, Felixia Dizon, and CX Navarro.
