Former South Border band vocalists reunite for a show

Music fans rejoice as former vocalists of premier OPM band Southborder reunite for a show.

Luke Mejares, Duncan Ramos, and Jay Durias are reuniting for a "one night only" concert live and free at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on December 23, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Finals.

This would have to be the first in a long time that the iconic vocalists of the group would be seen singing altogether.

Southborder, a pop and R&B group, gained prominence when they first came out in the '90s. Jay, one of its original members, keyboardist and composer, is still actively performing with the band.

With Brix Ferraris then originally on lead vocals, the band scored their first mega hit, the all-time ballad classic "Kahit Kailan" in 1996. It received numerous song of the year awards in various radio stations back then.

South Border first experienced a change in lineup when Brix left the group. Luke replaced Brix and the group successfully followed through their streak of hits.

A few years later, Luke also decided to go solo and the group once again experienced another vocal replacement. This time, they got two, Duncan Ramos and Vince Alaras.

During Duncan and Vince's time, the group scored yet again iconic hits such as "Rainbow" and Mulawin theme song "Ikaw Nga."

It was also during their time when South Border ventured into danceable R&B songs.

Then again, the two also ended stage time with the group and Jay took on as the lead vocals.
