The Filipino American comic has moved his show to a new date in 2022.

Filipino American stand-up comedian Jo Koy has postponed his December 29 show after some members of his family and production team have contracted COVID-19.

Jo Koy, whose real name is Joseph Glenn Herbert Sr., made the announcement via social media.

His post reads: “We regret to announce that due to the current surge in COVID and the fact that members of Jo Koy's production team as well as immediate family members are currently ill from COVID, we must postpone his December 29th show at The Coca-Cola Arena. The new date will be May 14, 2022, and Jo looks forward to returning to Dubai at that time.”

Prior to the postponement, Jo Koy has been busy doing his world tour titled “Funny is Funny,” with shows scheduled up until the first half of 2022.

Jo Koy's girlfriend and fellow comic Chelsea Handler is also on tour, with new dates added to her tour titled “Vaccinated and Horny” until March 2022.

Aside from the postponement of Jo Koy's show, Broadway performances for “The Music Man” have also been canceled after its star Hugh Jackman had tested positive for COVID-19 and reportedly has mild symptoms.

The U.S. is currently one of the countries that have a surge in new COVID-19 cases due to the spread of the Omicron variant.
