
COVID-19 continues to impact different industries around the world, including the entertainment industry. The latest to be affected by the virus is Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o, who had to cancel virtual interviews for her upcoming movie The 355 because of the diagnosis.
The actress confirmed her being COVID-positive on her Twitter account, saying that she will be taking care in isolation and urged everyone to keep themselves protected from illness.
I too have tested positive for COVID-19. I'm fully vaccinated and taking care in isolation, so I trust I will be well. Please do all you can to keep yourself and others protected from serious illness. #StayMaskedAndVaxxed

The 355 is about a CIA agent joining forces with three international agents to retrieve a weapon from mercenaries, while also trying to evade a mysterious woman following their every move. Lupita co-stars in the movie with Jessica Chastain, Diane Kruger, Penelope Cruz, Fan Bingbing, Edgar Ramirez, and Sebastian Stan.
Just a week ago, the Broadway musical The Music Man had to cancel performances until January 1 after Hugh Jackman revealed his positive diagnosis .

Before Hugh's positive diagnosis, his co-star, Sutton Foster, also had to miss several performances after testing positive for the virus.
Broadway shows like Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hamilton, and The Lion King have had breakthrough infections as well, while shows like Waitress, Jagged Little Pill, and Ain't Too Proud have even closed because of the continued COVID-19 spread.
Filipino-American Jo Koy has also had to cancel his own show after members of his family and crew tested positive for COVID-19.
Singer-songwriter Charlie Puth also revealed that he had become a breakthrough COVID-19 case on his Twitter account, calling on his fans to be “safe and careful.”
The Korean entertainment industry has also been hit hard by COVID-19, with a number of actors and idols testing positive for the virus over the course of the pandemic. Check them out in the gallery below.
