Chynna Ortaleza, Kean Cipriano, and kids all test positive for COVID-19

Kapuso actress and TV host Chynna Ortaleza, her husband Kean Cipriano, and their kids Salem and Stellar have all tested positive for COVID-19.

Chynna shared the news by posting photos of their family while in isolation.

She began her post by saying, “'Hi Cips! Been wanting to be introduced to you all for two years now. COVID-19 RT-PCR: Positive!”

The mother-of-two then discussed how they took all the precautions they could, and yet they still weren't able to evade the virus.

“Everyone who knows us will attest to the defense that we put up against this virus,” she wrote. “It found us in a place that we secured so that our kids could play safely & still enjoy the sun and nature.”

She also said, “How did we get it? I do not know. We have no close contacts. I did hear immense coughing next door (but damn who would have thought!)”

Chynna then detailed all the safety measures they took to keep their family COVID-19-free.

“We have a strict family bubble. All deliveries are left at the gate- sanitized & sprayed before bringing them into the home in proper PPE & KN95 masks,” she stated. “So where do we unmask? In the safety of our home. So, I feel like this new variant is in the air.”

It seemed like the Ciprianos didn't test positive on the same day as Chynna said, “We are back to Day 1 today. Ate @stellarcipriano developed a fever a day after we had no choice but to break isolation... Kean started developing symptoms eventually. We still have plenty of days to learn & fight through. We humbly ask for your prayers.”

She also described one of the COVID-19 symptoms she's been dealing with.

“P.S. Yung ubo nito parang kahol sa kawalan. Sana 'wag n'yo na maranasan. Walang satisfaction, mga teh,” Chynna humorously wrote.

Despite the unfortunate news she shared, Chynna expressed how grateful she is that vaccines against COVID-19, flu, and pneumonia are effective and that they were able to get their hands on self-test kits.

She also thanked God and all the people who have been helpful to them on their road to recovery.

“Grateful for the immense support of family & friends who have gone out of their way to help & offer support and prayers, frontliners who make all things possible & faith that everything is perfectly planned & timed. Thank you, Lord, for interceding when Salem was screaming for help,” Chynna said. “Our doctors @docbistek @therovingmd @jengoy416 for the guidance and encouragement. Iiyak na lang ako kung wala kayo.”

Chynna ended her post by pleading everyone to stop making assumptions and spreading wrong information about COVID-19.

She also wished that COVID-19 tests would be made available to the public and that the price would become more affordable, so that people won't resort to downplaying their COVID-19 symptoms and not getting tested.
