GMA's Premier Drama Actress Lovi Poe renews contract



On May 17, GMA's premier drama actress Lovi Poe signed a 3-year exclusive contract with GMA Network. Present at the event were GMA executives Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Chairman and CEO; Ms. Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Officer in Charge of Entertainment; Ms. Cheryl Ching-Sy, AVP for Drama and Ms. Gigi Lara, AVP for Alternative Programming.

Members of the press were also invited to the contact signing. A short Q& A was held after the actual signing.
 
Poe was asked by the press on what made her decide to renew her contact with GMA. The award-winning actress replied, “Well, I just took a vacation and gusto kong magpahinga sandali and finish my two movies and focus on that. I’m just so happy that I’m back.”
 
When asked whether there were any changes in her contract, the singer-actress simply stated, “Ako, I started here in GMA, so that’s the first thing naman na iniisip ko about renewing. It’s not about anything else. It’s not just like that. Ako, my heart is here din naman.”
 
Poe added, “Excited akong gumawa ulit ng teleserye, namiss ko na rin. We’re gonna talk about it soon. We’re gonna meet about ‘yung next drama na gagawin ko and I missed everyone dito sa GMA- ‘yung mga staff, crew and kapwa ko artista.”
 
With her superb acting skills and stunning looks, the Kapuso leading lady was asked if she thinks she could be the next Primetime Queen.
 
“Ako, I don’t need a title. I just wanna work hard and do my best. Kumbaga, enough na para sa akin na tawagin ako sa name ng character ko, kung ano ‘yung pinoportray ko sa teleserye,” explained Poe.
 
When it comes to future roles, the Yesterday’s Bride star shared that she would like to further expand her horizons in the acting department.
 
“Gusto ko parin siyempre ng drama, but then I also wanna do action if given the chance,” revealed Lovi.
 
When it comes to leading men, Poe stated that she is open to working with whomever the network will pair her up with. The versatile actress was asked about the real score between her and Rocco Nacino, her leading man on Yesterday’s Bride.
 
Lovi clarified, “We’re friends. I just wanna focus muna talaga [on work]. Ito ‘yung pinromise ko sa sarili ko. I’m already 24, so ibang Lovi na ‘to, mas mature na.”
