Former teen star Julianne Lee gears up for her first TV series in seven years

Hindi Kita Iiwan, her first TV project after seven years of being away from the limelight. During the interview, the former teen star talked about her role, what she has been busy with all these years, and how it feels to be back in the Kapuso network.

"Ako si Grace Lim, ako 'yung Singaporean-Filipino-Chinese businesswoman sa Singapore. And then, si Rafael Rosell will be going to Singapore, tapos 'yung papers niya hindi fixed, until ma-meet niya ako. So I will be the one to help him, aayusin ko 'yung papers niya," Julianne shares about her character, "I didn't know na all this time pala mayroon siyang naiwan dito, which is si Bianca King. Nalaman ko na babalik pala siya ng Philippines, siyempre di ako payag."

It is at this point, she says, that her character takes a dark turn. "Ginawan ko siya ng issue. Sasabihin ko na ni-rape niya ako or something. Dahil doon, makukulong siya sa Singapore."

She describes this role as very different from the previous roles she has portrayed. "When I left, lagi yatang either kawawa 'yung role ko, or pa-sweet lang. Pero siyempre in the course of time, I'm more prepared to do something like medyo ima-manipulate mo 'yung character nung isa. Kasi andami ko rin naman na-experience in that seven years. So, preparation? Experience in life!"

It wasn't difficult for her to be comfortable with her co-stars, as she had already known them for a long time. "I've actually known them from before. Si Rafael, from way, way back, when I was still 12 years old. Si Bianca at si Dion, when I was in [GMA] 7, sila rin 'yung mga kasama ko."

She adds, "I'm very happy, kasi when I met them earlier sobrang welcoming nila, sobrang bait. I know Dion, Rafael, and especially si Bianca. Wow, I'm excited! I'm really excited to work with them."

When asked if she's ready to quit her job in a real estate company and go back to acting full time, this is what Julianne had to say. "For the meantime, since ito palang ang show ko, I still don't know what's going to happen, I'm going to do both. Pero if given the opportunity to have more shows and I need to give up one thing, I'm going to give up my other job."
