'My Absolute Boyfriend' star Yeo Jin-goo halts all activities after contracting COVID-19

With the sudden increase of COVID-19 infection in South Korea brought about by the Omicron variant, another Korean celebrity has unfortunately contracted the virus.

Korean entertainment site Soompi reported that actor Yeo Jin-goo has suspended all of his activities after testing positive for the coronavirus disease.

Based on the official statement of his agency Janus Entertainment, Jin-goo is only experiencing mild symptoms of the highly contagious disease.

Part of the statement reads:

“Yeo Jin Goo previously received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and other than mild cold symptoms, he is not experiencing any major issues.

“Yeo Jin Goo has currently suspended all activities and is in self-quarantine and taking care of his health in accordance with the guidelines of the disease control authorities. Once the self-quarantine period is over, he will continue his activities, including the drama Link : Eat and Love to Kill (literal translation).

“We will continue to comply with the guidelines of the disease control authorities and make every effort to ensure the health and safety of our actors.”

Jin-goo appeared in several Korean drama series including Moon Embracing the Sun (2012), My Absolute Boyfriend (2019) and Hotel Del Luna (2019) with top Korean actress and singer IU.

Aside from Jin-goo, six members of the JYP Entertainment boy group Stray Kids were also confirmed to have been infected by COVID-19.
